The to do list is ever growing
And I simply cannot sleep
Thinking about what's left to do
What to let go of and what to keep
There are gifts still to wrap
And a stocking to finish sewing
Cleaning and piles of laundry
I'll need coffee to keep me going
I may have to sacrifice baking
In order to get some rest
We'll have to eat what we've got
Before I make my best
Father Christmas'll have to make do
With shop bought mince pies
Because on Christmas eve
I'll choose to snuggle and rest my eyes
There are still lots of films to watch
All the classics and some new
So I'll be sure to stop for those
With chocolate, mulled punch too.
